Technology and innovation are at the root of our science-led approach to new product development
• 300 breeders and technicians
• 17 research stations across Europe
• 4 specialist laboratories
• 63 trial locations
• 28,000 experimental plots
• 200 new varieties each year.
Our reach and resources are pan-European enabling us to fine-tune our varieties to suit a huge range of climates, soils and environments.
Applying the latest thinking in genomic selection and marker-assisted breeding, RAGT breeders follow a rigorous process to develop new varieties which deliver for the farmer and the end-user. The breeding and testing programmes specialise in genomics, pathology and biometrics and we have partnerships with a number of research organisations.
We develop new varieties and undertake extensive testing across the continent with our scientists and researchers typically register 24 different crop species each year.
So it’s not by chance that we are Europe’s Number One cereal breeder, supplying seed worldwide.
